About this course

Use AI for messages, planning, practical skills, checked costs and truthful work or community tasks.

Free, self-guided learning with optional facilitated sessions. Four weeks, approximately 16 learning hours; take longer when needed.

What you will learn

By the end, you should be able to:

  • Write a clear message that says what you mean without inventing promises.
  • Turn supplied information into actions, deadlines and organised lists.
  • Make a feasible timetable and adjust it when circumstances change.
  • Try a practical skill, compare attempts and use feedback thoughtfully.
  • Organise a simple budget, compare options and check records.
  • Prepare truthful promotional or work-related writing.
  • Combine useful outputs into a task pack and adapt it to a new constraint.

AI can help prepare and organise work. You will still do the practice, check the facts and decide what to use. Completing these exercises does not guarantee employment, income or a particular result from a real application.

Your learning journey

Week 1: Communicate clearly and understand information

This week, you will turn rough ideas and supplied information into useful messages, actions and lists. Begin with the fictional examples. Adapt a private copy later when you know the real facts and have permission to use them.

Week 2: Plan time, learn a skill and solve problems

This week, you will turn suggestions into actions. You will check a timetable, try a camera skill, practise with feedback and revise a plan when something changes. A useful result must fit the time, materials and choices you actually have.

Week 3: Organise costs and support a livelihood

A useful table or message can save time, but it still needs checking. This week you will organise a budget, compare buying options, keep simple records and prepare a promotion. All names, prices and business details below are invented. “...

Week 4: Put skills to use for work and community life

This week, you will combine the habits you have practised: clear requests, truthful facts, realistic plans and independent checks. Your final task will include a change of circumstances, so you can show how you adapt rather than only ...

How you will learn

Read the lessons, save all weekly and final practice, and confirm the self-checks. Then pass the final 20-question knowledge check with 16/20 (80%). Unlimited attempts, no time limit; your highest score is retained. The certificate recognises self-guided course completion, not independently verified practical skill. Optional PDFs and Feedback do not affect completion.

Approximately 16 learning hours, at your own pace. Practice is private to you and authorised staff. Optional facilitated sessions use the same material; no live support service is promised.

Before you start

Understanding AI or equivalent beginner skills is recommended; no enforced prerequisite. Use a notebook, calculator and supported phone, tablet or computer. Live AI practice needs an eligible supported tool arrangement; core tasks require no paid subscription. Internet is needed to save work in Moodle. Arrange a camera or supported practical capture for Week 2.
